Planning- Further changes

After further discussion with the group, huge changes have been made to our initial idea of Instinct. It has now been changed to Love me. This was decided after many discussions over changing our initial idea of Instinct. As a group, we worked as a team to do a brainstorm of another idea for a thriller film. Research led us to a film called Kiss the girls, which had an inspiration for Love me.

Here is a mind map showing some of the plot and characteristics that we want to include. Love me is all about building tension and how love can be a powerful motive for anyone. The main idea is that the main antagonist is an unknown character when shown in the trailer. This makes the audience have a strong feeling of anticipation as they do not know what the character looks like. Furthermore, the antagonist is a mentally ill person who has always struggled to make attachments. As a character, he was beaten as a child and was neglected by his mother, which had caused him emotional scars. This has therefore caused him to go insane as he has had a tough upbringing going through various foster homes and being bullied at school. The idea for our trailer is, the antagonist kidnaps the protagonist, but does not inflict physical violence onto her. The trailer will show how the kidnapping has happened, where the girl is shown walking with her friend through dark alleyways and parks. This will connote to the audience that something bad is going to happen to them which causes a feeling of unease. Further changes involve the fact that there is going to be a complete change in target audience , we intend to create a USP where both males and females are both equally interested in the film. This is going to be done by using violent acts such as a kidnapping to attract the male demographic, and then the romantic acts will attract the female demographic. However, this will not be any normal romance, as the antagonist is keen to force love upon him in order to fulfil an obsession of being loved to make up for his past.

Here is a few notes that were taken down when brainstorming for ideas for our trailer. This will be expanded on when more conventions are thought of and can be used in order to make a successful thriller film trailer. We intent to do this by making sure the lighting is low key and the inter titles are portrayed in a sinister way.

We wanted to also make sure that we have an enigma somewhere in our trailer, where there is a question that is not answered, therefore making the audience try and figure it out creating a puzzle.  For example, one enigma could be as to why the antagonist (Henry) commits the crime of kidnapping the girl.
