Planning- Equipment

In order to make a trailer, various equipment is required from the process of, filming, marketing and editing. These include necessary items to contribute to the purpose of our trailer.

The first piece of equipment that we need to get hold of is a camera that is supplied by the school, meaning there is no cost involved. We have booked in to use a camera that is offered by the photography department for the school, supplying a Canon DSLR. Before filming, we have managed to see the quality of the camera in  dark lighting by looking at the photography work of other students.

The tripod can also be supplied by the school, this piece of equipment is essential in making sure that the shots are steady and smooth. This is going to be needed in order to make sure the shots are not shaky as it looks lower quality. This piece of equipment will allow us to do shots such as tracking shots. The tripod has adjustable legs so we will be able to have shots like low and and high angle shots. Low angle shots can connote that an object or somebody is powerful which we can use in showing our antagonist. Whereas high angle shots can portray something as vulnerable. 

Another piece of equipment we plan to us is a mobile phone. Every member of the group has an iPhone, which means it will be easier to keep in contact through iMessage. Furthermore, there is an app available which allows you to make voice recordings. We will use this to make our voiceovers in the trailer, that can be done by sending the voice notes to an email which can then be transported into the editing timeline.
